September
💠My Thoughts ðŸ’
Hi and welcome to the last month of the 3rd quarter! SEPTEMBER!
It's the 2nd of September today and I have a couple of things I want to talk about. First being the credit card that M1 announced a couple weeks back. For those that don't know, I use M1 Finance to invest my money into dividend paying stocks for passive income to retire early. The trick to their credit card is that you get a higher percentage of cash back depending if you have a certain company who is at that high percentage bracket in your portfolio. Brackets are 10%, 5%, 2.5%, and finally 1.5% for everything else that is not included in your portfolio. I've been trying to figure out to make the best use for this card over the past but honestly... I haven't came up with anything. I frequently take Uber and Lyft rides but unfortunately none of those companies pay dividends. Like NONE of the companies in the 10% bracket pay out any dividends so really I'm just missing out on the best part of the card. I'd mostly be in the 2.5% and 1.5% bracket but the companies in which I hold some shares in, I don't often spend money at. I'm split between a rock and hard place so I'm still stuck on whether I should get the card or not. Will update in the future. This Tesla bot came out of nowhere at the end of August. Honestly, is Tesla even a standalone car manufacturing company anymore??? It seems to do everything. I mean they are a part of the energy sector with their solar panels and powerwall, a part of the manufacturing industry with their top of the line electric cars, and with the tesla bot put together, they are excelling in the tech front as well. In my mind I am dying to put some money into tesla but it's like.... I have this gripe where if the company doesn't pay out a dividend, I don't want to put money into it. This is a dividend dedicated website and I want to keep it that way. That said, man... that company is so hard to ignore. The last thing I wanted to talk about Nuclear Fusion and/or Nuclear Energy. I don't see much of this topic being talked about and there seems to be no stocks that you can invest in. It amazes me that no one talks about this eventhough Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos have been privately investing in Nuclear Fusion companies like Commonwealth Fusion Systems since the early 2010s. I hope that more awareness will be raised soon.
Amazing end to the third quarter. I think this is the highest dividend earning month yet! Store Capital Corp (STOR) has yet to lose its #1 status with the highest dividend payout so far. In fact, over the last two months, nobody has gotten even remotely close. The highest anyone got was T. Rowe Group Inc. (TROW) with $3.18 back in July which was also the same month Store Capital paid out so I feel like it doesn't count. After that would be Chevron Corp. (CVX) who paid out $2.69 this month. No where near that Store Capital $3.50. In other news, I finally bought a peice of HP Inc (HPQ). With that last buy, my portfolio now has a full total of 52 holdings.
